We are pleased to be welcoming applications for our upcoming exhibition

This exhibition at The SHO is  in collaboration with Cardiff Skateboard ClubBeing based together in a converted 20’s Silent movie Cinema  originally “The Castle Picture Theatre”, a building with an untold story, we are paying homage to it’s history by setting a movie theme for the exhibition & opening event titled “Treading the boards”. Shinning the spot light on this iconic building’s history and present.

Using a skateboard as a starting point (used decks are being donated for recycling) we are asking artist/designers to use this as a starting base, manipulate the decks in any way they like, either paint on it, cut into it, apply imagery, whatever medium works for you really, so pretty open as long as there’s a movie connection.
Deck(s) will be available to collect from The Castle Emporium from the end of June.

This will be a group exhibition, opening mid August  (dates to be confirmed) and will run for a month at The SHO Gallery (in the upper balcony) creating a diverse collection of designs by artists of different backgrounds that will be for sale.

Interested in getting involved?

then email us on with a link to your website/portfolio and brief description of your proposed design. Know someone who would be interested? feel free to share this! Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask
